Glabrous, 5–12 dm, mostly simple; lvs linear to lance-linear, to 16 × 2 cm, sharply toothed or the narrower ones subentire, the upper gradually reduced; raceme secund; bracts lance-linear, 1–2 cm, callous-toothed; pedicels 3–6 mm, minutely scabrellate, bibracteolate at base; fls 2–2.5 cm, blue, fenestrate, the lower lip glabrous within; sep linear, 10–14 mm; auricles minute or none; 2n=28. Wet ground near the coast; s. Del. to Ga. Aug.–Oct.
