Perennial, prostrate, mat-forming herb.. Stems up to several dm. long, rooting at the nodes, glabrous or pubescent.. Leaves with lamina narrowly ovate to suborbicular or subreniform, 3–7 mm. long, 2–6 mm. wide, rounded to subacute at the apex, truncate to cordate or attenuate at the base, dentate or crenate, glabrous or ± pubescent above only; petiole up to 3 mm. long, glabrous or sparsely pubescent.. Flowers scattered in leaf-axils; pedicels 1–10 (–28) mm. long, glabrous or pubescent; bracteoles at the base of the pedicel, linear, minute.. Hypanthium subglobose to obconical, glabrous or pubescent.. Calyx-lobes 1–2(–4.5) mm. long, entire, glabrous or ciliate.. Corolla 4–7 (–10) mm. long, blue with 2 whitish bumps in the mouth of the tube, split on the back to 0.5–1 mm. from the base, glabrous or pubescent outside, pubescent inside at the bottom of the tube.. Filaments connate above, ± pubescent, attached to the corolla-tube at the base.. Anther-tube 0.8–1.2 (–1.4) mm. long, glabrous or hairy on the back; 2 lower anthers each with a tuft of hairs and a hyaline appendage at the apex.. Ovary subinferior.. Capsule glabrous or pubescent, with 2 valves 0.5–1.5 mm. long; inferior part of capsule 2–3.5 mm. long, usually subglobose..
