Small suffruticose, few-branched plant or diffuse to procumbent subshrub, 10–40 (–80) cm high; branches minutely hairy. Leaves glabrous, sessile to subsessile; lamina flat or slightly concavo-convex in section, linear to narrowly obovate, 4.5–10 mm long, 0.9–2 mm wide, l:w ratio 3.5–8.7, attenuate, somewhat decurrent at base, obtuse to rounded at apex. Inflorescence 5–9-flowered, or reduced to 1–3-flowered cymes, crowded, often not exceeding leaves. Calyx 1–1.2 mm long. Corolla 2–2.5 (–3.5) mm long; tube not thickened distally; lobes 1–1.5 (–1.8) mm long; inner surface moderately hairy from near base of tube to base of lobes, rarely to halfway up lobes, frequently more densely hairy near or at mouth, often papillose on distal half of lobes.
Mostly occasional orlocally common, sometimes rare, occurring in open mallee with tall shrubunderstorey, tall shrubland or in low coastal heath. Commonly growing in whiteto grey sandy or sandy loam soils overlying limestone.
