Characteristics

Erect, usually compact shrub, 10–40 cm high; branches with 2 pairs of lateral ridges or wings, ±glabrous. Leaves coriaceous, glabrous, subsessile; lamina obovate to elliptic, 12–26 mm long, (4.5–) 7–15.5 mm wide, l:w ratio 1.4–2.3 (–2.7), shortly attenuate to obtuse at base, slightly thickened and ±recurved on margin, rounded at apex. Inflorescence terminal, leafy to bracteose, much-branched, cymose, many-flowered; basal internodes of primary axis elongated, 20–80 mm long. Calyx 1.5–2 mm long. Corolla 2.6–3.5 mm long; lobes 1.3–2.1 mm long; inner surface densely hairy from near base of tube to mouth, becoming sparsely to moderately hairy halfway up lobes.
