Prostrate, intricately branched or low spreading subshrub, to 35 cm high; branches ridged by decurrence of leaf midribs onto internode; hairs minute, often restricted to band joining interpetiolar regions. Leaves sessile, constricted c. 1 mm above base; lamina linear, rarely very narrowly oblong, 6–14 mm long, 0.7–1.4 mm wide, l:w ratio (6.5–) 7.5–16.5, basally thickened but not revolute marginally, strongly revolute distally, rounded at apex, appearing obtuse; lower surface glabrous basally, densely hairy distally; upper surface basally hairy, glabrous or minutely papillose distally. Inflorescence 5–9-flowered; peduncles absent or to 0.5 mm long. Flowers 4-merous. Calyx 0.5–0.7 mm long. Corolla 1–1.3 mm long; tube not thickened internally, glabrous; lobes 0.4–0.6 mm long, papillose inside.
An occasional subshrub, occurring in closed heath, openmallee scrub, low open Eucalyptus falcatadominated forest with heathy understorey, or on edges of Melaleuca breakwater swamp. Soils sandy, either white or grey,overlying laterites (then frequently gravelly), limestones or clays.
