Erect, slender shrub, 0.4–1 m high; branches minutely papillose. Leaves minutely papillose, sessile; lamina narrowly ovate to narrowly elliptic, often appearing almost linear, 24–51 (–60) mm long, (4–) 5–11 mm wide, l:w ratio (3.2–) 4–8.5, rounded to shortly attenuate and decurrent at base, recurved to strongly revolute but with underside of leaf still visible, subacute. Inflorescence large, extended beyond leaves, consisting of many-flowered uniflorescences. Calyx 1.4–1.8 mm long. Corolla 2.3–3.6 mm long; tube with inner surface slightly thickened to form a rim at mouth, glabrous except for dense hairs on rim; lobes 0.8–1.2 mm long, with inner surface densely hairy at base, minutely papillose distally.
Locally frequent in low Eucalyptus obliqua forest with shrub understorey, in clay-richsoils, often with quartz fragments. Also occurs in brown sandy loam soils withmallee and Xanthorrhoea or in greysandy soils on the edge of open sclerophyll forest.
