Characteristics

Erect shrub 0.2–1 m high; branches densely and minutely hairy. Leaves subsessile with petiole less than 0.8 mm long; lamina subcoriaceous, ovate to narrowly ovate, 13–18 mm long, 7–8 mm wide, l:w ratio 1.8–2.6, rounded to slightly cuneate at base, slightly recurved, often with a few hairs near base of margin, obtuse and sometimes mucronulate; lower surface glabrous except ±hairy midrib. Inflorescence usually foliose, 7–49-flowered; uniflorescences 7-flowered. Calyx 1.2–1.5 mm long. Corolla c. 2.5 mm long; lobes c. 0.8–1 mm long; outer surface glabrous; inner surface glabrous except for a band of crinkled hairs restricted to a thickened rim in mouth, sometimes extending on to base of corolla lobes.
