Characteristics

Tussock narrow; stems short. Leaves plano-convex to semiterete, erect, usually 30-40 cm long, rarely to 70 cm, 1 mm wide, grey-green; apex shortly acute; sheath margins abruptly narrowed at top, readily lacerated, lattice-like, pale to pinkish brown. Male inflorescence not more than one-fifth of leaf length, 5-8 cm long; scape up to 3 cm long; rachis unbranched. Female inflorescence 1-1.5 cm diam., very rarely in 2 segments and 3-5 cm tall; scape short. Bracts and flowers as in Lomadra obliqua .
