Characteristics

Tussocks sparse or occasionally in short, dense mats to 20 cm diam. Leaf sheath margins eventually lacerated, whitish, occasionally ±intact, purplish brown. Inflorescence axes smooth, papillose or scabrid; flowers separate. Male inflorescence branched with the branches alternate or occasionally some whorled, or unbranched. Female inflorescence less branched with a short or hidden scape. Bracts and flowers similar to those of Lomandra cylindrica , but male flowers pedicellate, female flowers subsessile.
