Characteristics

Tussock robust. Leaves flat, c. 95 cm long, 4.5-5 mm wide; apex obtuse; sheath margins somewhat lacerated, predominantly reddish brown. Inflorescences exceeding leaves; flowers in whorled clusters; branches whorled, crowded, 6-7 mm long; rachis and branches obscured in male, partially obscured in female; pedicel of male flowers up to 4.5 mm long. Sepals and petals greenish purple. Mature capsule not seen.
