Characteristics

Monoicous or dioicous, medium sized, brown, on bark or rocks. Stem to 4 cm long, sparsely irregularly branched. Leaves ± imbricate, lobe ovale, slightly falcate, 1-1.2 mm long, 0.7-0.8 mm broad, apex rounded. Marginal cells about 18 u, trigones lacking, inner cells about 18 x 27 µ, basal cells 27 x 30 µ, walls brown. Lobule 1/3 as long as the lobe, basal part inflated, apex flat, apical tooth obtuse, keel arched, Amphigastria large, subcircular, 3 times broader than the stem, entire, insertion slightly arched. Female organ apical, bracts irregularly dentate, lobule large, apical tooth obtuse. Bracteole large, subcircular, entire. Perianth with large lacinulate-dentate wings, central plicare also dentate-lacinulate.
