Characteristics

Thorny shrub, up to 1 m tall, branches erect to spreading. Leaves succulent, solitary or in clusters, obovate to elliptic, 20-40 mm long. Flowers bisexual, trumpet-shaped, 10-13 mm long, creamy white, lobes lilac, reflexed, calyx large, inflated, sparsely covered with glandular hairs. Berries red, ovoidal to spherical, ± 8 mm diam., enclosed by inflated calyx.
