Characteristics

Main stems to 20 cm long, rooting at intervals. Branchlet systems scattered along main stems, prostrate, often appressed to substratum, but with upturned tips, dichotomously branched and ± rosette-forming, often imbricate. Leaves spirally arranged, imbricate, curved upwards, thick, linear-subulate to linear-lanceolate, 3–5.5 mm long, 0.5–0.8 mm wide, green, often tipped reddish brown. Strobili 6–16 mm long, usually dark reddish brown. Sporophylls imbricate, ovate, acuminate; bases coalescent; margins entire or with a few obscure teeth.
