Herbs perennial, 10--30 cm tall, aromatic when dry, with creeping stolons. Stems ascending to erect, terete or weakly angular, ca. 1.5 mm in diam. at base, upper part minutely glandular. Lower leaves scalelike. Upper leaves alternate, usually confined to upper 2/3 of stem; petiole 4--8 mm, glandular; leaf blade ovate to rhomboid-ovate or ovate-elliptic, 1.5--3(--6) X 0.7--3 cm, adaxially glabrous or initially ± setulose, base cuneate to broadly cuneate, rarely subrounded, margin obscurely undulate-crenate, apex acuminate; veins prominently reticulate.
