Origin: in Parker, Wash., by Elon J. Gilbert, Richey & Gilbert Co., Yakima, Wash. Introd. in 1957. Bud mutation (whole tree) discovered in 1954 in a Starking Delicious orchard. Tree: standard type. Fruit: large; skin bright crimson red, which appears early; flavor very good; keeps well; resembles Royal Red Delicious.
