Tree: weaker, shoots more sparse, leaves larger, darker and fruit buds larger than York Imperial; blossoms and ripens simultaneously. Named by Ford Kritzinger in honor of the wife of a one-time GovernorGeneral of South Africa. Fruit: larger, but flatter than York Imperial, 2 3/4 to 3 inches in diam.; resembles parent in all other respects; inclined to preharvest drop.
