Origin: in Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada, by T. Maehara. Introd. in 1955. Bud mutation of Starking Delicious; discovered in 1954 on a 16-year­old tree. Tree: standard type. Fruit: Delicious type; skin very dark red, appearing some 10 days before that of parent, some striping.
