Cultivation

Origin: in Tift County, Ga., by Major C. Collins, Tifton, Ga. Introd. in 1977. Unknown seedling; discovered in 1960s. Tree: moderately vigorous; is in midbloom when Red Delicious is just beginning to bloom. Recommended as a dooryard variety. Fruit: 2 1/2 to 2 1/4 inches in diam.; round to oblate, symmetric, smooth in shape; skin ground color pale yellow-green, half covered by reddish-brown blush; flesh white, fine-textured, crisp; flavor nonacid, aromatic, semisweet.
