Origin: in Entiat, Wash., by A.J. Marr. Introd. in 1949. USPP 1075; 19 Feb. 1952; assigned to Columbia & Okanogan Nursery Co., Wenatchee, Wash. Parentage unknown; discovered in 1945. Tree: not subject to mildew; medium to large, vigorous. Fruit: medium to large; roundish conic to globular; skin deep red, striped, glossy, smooth; flesh white to slightly yellowish, crisp, tender, juicy, subacid; quality good; keeps well; ripens 10 days before Jonathan; resembles Stayman Winesap.
