Farm, Smithfield, Ontario; tested as Ottawa T-441. Tree: annually bears good crops; as hardy as McIntosh. Fruit: medium, may require thinning in some districts to realize a good size; round to slightly conic; skin attractive yellow, heavily washed in red; flesh cream, very tender; very suitable for dessert purposes, equal to Melba and superior to Crimson Beauty and Close; outstanding in shipping quality; ripens 7 to 10 days before Melba and 3 to 4 days after Crimson Beauty; developed primarily for eastern Canada.
