Origin: in Chelan County, Wash., by Herbert Diede, Wenatchee, Wash. Introd. in 1968. USPP 2956; 23 Dec. 1969; assigned to Stark Bros. Orchards & Nursery Co., Louisiana, Mo. Bud mutation of Starking Delicious; discovered in 1954. Tree: medium large, spreading; vigorous; hardiness same as Starking Delicious; productive; flower attractive purplish-pink; recommended for home or commercial planting. Fruit: skin nearly solid red stripe, more red than Starking Delicious, tough; flesh characteristics same as Starking Delicious.
