A perennial hermaphrodite deciduous tree. It grows 4-8m high.
Origin: in Geneva, N.Y., by the New York State Agr. Expt. Sta. Introd. in 1955. Cortland × Crimson Beauty; selected in 1937. Tree: annually productive, upright, spreading. Fruit: large; skin red-striped, attractive; quality fair to good; ripens evenly and very early, about 5 or 6 days after Crimson Beauty; fruit matures at one time, thereby requiring only one picking; for dessert, excellent for sauce; good commercial prospects for its season.
