Characteristics

A tree. It grows 40 m tall. The trunk is 13-cm across. The bark is grey-brown. The leaves are in spirals. They are thick and leathery. They are narrowly oval and 13-18 cm long by 5-9 cm wide. There are 15-17 side veins that are raised underneath the leaf. The leaf stalk is stout and 2-3 cm long. The flowers are in groups in the axils of leaves or at the ends of branches. The flowers have a scent. The sepals are yellowish with a red tinge and the petals are white. The fruit are oval and 9-12 cm long by 8-10 cm wide. They are grey green and often have brown spots. The pulp is white.
