Bracts (2.5)4.5–6 x 0.2–0.6 mm., linear to linear-lanceolate, acute or obtuse, glandular-pubescent Calyx 4–4.5 mm. long, 5-lobed to little more than halfway in flower, lobes narrowly lanceolate, glandular-pubescent Corolla yellow; tube (6)8.5–10.5 mm. long, slender, gibbous above, glandular-pubescent; lobes 2.5–4.5 x 1–1.3(2) mm., spreading, margins recurved when dry, linear-oblong, obtuse, subequal.
Annual or perennial herb (15)30–55 cm. tall, erect, simple to moderately branched, densely short white glandular-pubescent-papillose; branches terete or subtetragonous.
Anterior stamens inserted in mouth of corolla, anthers small, sterile, c. 0.5 mm. long, partly extruded, anthers of posterior fertile pair c. 1.5 mm. long.
Inflorescence simple-or compound-spicate, 3–8 cm. long (extending to c. 17 cm. in fruit).
Capsule 2.5–3 x 2 mm., broadly ovoid-cylindric, laterally subcompressed.
