Inflorescence a terminal corymbose panicle up to 15 x 20 cm.; inflorescence-axes and outside of flowers usually coarsely fulvous-tomentose, rarely completely glabrous; bracts c. 0·5 cm. long, boat-shaped, keeled; pedicel gradually expanded into receptacle-tube, the two together 1·3–2·2 cm. long.
Drupe up to 3 x 2 cm., ellipsoid, reddish-purple, tomentose when young, pubescent when mature.
Receptacle-tube obconoidal, slightly curved, 0·5–0·6 cm. long.
Stamens c. 60; filaments 1·5–2·2 cm. long, white.
Ovary densely tomentose; style c. 2·0 cm. long.
Bark grey, finely reticulate or almost smooth.
Small evergreen tree (4)6–10 m. tall.
Petals up to 0·8 x 0·5 cm., white.
Crown dense, dark green, rounded.
