Leaves persistent, coriaceous, ligular to elliptic-lanceo-late, acute or minutely and unequally 2-lobed, 6-15 cm. long and 1.2-3 cm. wide, contracted below into short, conduplicate petioles. Inflorescences short, slender, 1-flowered scapes, apparently produced singly in succession from the bract axils of the flush of new growth. Flowers pseudo-campanulate, of moderate size. Sepals subequal, free, not spreading, bright yellow or sometimes reddish yellow on the outer surfaces, 12-14 mm. long and 5-6 mm. wide, ovate-lanceolate, acute, con-cave, with a low central keel, the laterals adnate to the column foot forming a prominent, rounded mentum. Petals elliptic-ovate, acute, bright yellow, 10-12 mm. long and 6-7 mm. wide. Lip entire, bright yellow with scarlet markings, oblong-pandurate, 10-12 mm. long and 5-6 mm. wide when spread out, somewhat contracted at the base and articulated with the column foot, lateral margins some-what erect in natural position, the apex truncate, obscurely emarginate and 2-lobed, the lobules somewhat erect in natural position; the disk with a linear to oblong, obtuse, fleshy callus. Column semi-terete, somewhat arcuate, 5-6 mm. long, produced at the base into a foot.
