Shrub or small tree 2–15 m tall with dark grey fissured bark; young shoots pubescent.. Leaves spirally arranged, sessile, very narrowly elliptic-lanceolate, 0.7–1.8(–2) cm long, 1–2.5 mm wide, up to 7-nerved, glabrous or pubescent.. Inflorescence spiciform, terminal at first but axis soon grows out; flowers in 1–3-flowered groups, each in the axil of a persistent ovate bract, in the specimen seen, flowers appearing solitary and axillary.. Calyx green, pubescent outside; petals and stamens slightly greenish cream. Style glabrous.
