Flowers in terminal heads 1.8–2.5 cm diameter, usually overtopped by outgrowing leafy axes after anthesis.. Petals ± 2 mm long, scarious.. Staminal claws about same length with 10–15 pink, lavender or purple-red filaments.. Shrub 1–7 m tall, ± glabrous.
