Leaf-lamina 4·5–12 x 2·6 cm., elliptic to ovate, acuminate, the acumen ± long, acute or obtuse, acute at the base, slightly revolute at the margin, coriaceous or subcoriaceous, not shining, light-green on both faces or yellowish-green beneath, longitudinally 1-nerved, the midrib impressed above, raised on the under face, the transverse nerves inconspicuous above, sometimes slightly visible beneath, the tertiary nerves and reticulation inconspicuous; petiole 3–7 mm. long.
Cymes in axillary, solitary or 2-nate, ± branched many-flowered panicles up to 4 cm. long; peduncle 0·5–1·3 cm. long; pedicels 2·4 mm. long.
Receptacle 0·5 mm. high, hemispherical, green, with the limb c. 0·5 mm. high and 1·5–2 mm. in diam., campanulate, shallowly 4-lobed.
Stem with grey or brownish-grey ± fissured bark; branchlets 4-gonous, green, smooth; nodes thickened.
Anthers c. 1 mm. long, deep violet; filaments c. 1·5 mm. long.
Petals c. 2 x 2 mm., white, subsemicircular, apiculate.
Fruit 6–8 mm. in diameter, globose, pale green.
Flower-buds c. 1·5 mm. high, acutely conical.
A tree up to 25 m. tall or a shrub.
Style 2·5–3 mm. long.
