Characteristics

Tree 7 m high. Terminal bud narrowly ovate, 2.5–6 mm long. Leaves; petiole 3.5–9 mm long; lamina oblong or elliptic, 8–26 cm long, 2.4–8.3 cm wide, base auriculate, rounded or cordate, apex acuminate, apiculate or acute, secondary veins 3–4 mm apart. Bud scales in leaf axes (2–) 4–6 mm long. Inflorescence solitary flower, fascicle, cyme or panicle, axillary or terminal. Pedicel 2–5.5 mm long. Flowers 10 mm diam.; outer sepals 6–7 mm long; stamens 150–200, basally connate, anthers orbicular or c-shaped connective with gland; loculus with 4 inpushings, ovules 8; style 1. Fruit obovoid, globose to depressed globose, apex acuminate or apiculate, base rounded, 19–21 mm long, 24–26 mm wide.
