Tree up to 10 m. in height; young branches, petioles, pedicels and flower-buds with dense ferrugineous indumentum.. Petioles up to 3 cm. long.. Leaf-lamina elliptic-oblong, 12–15 cm. long, 4–5 cm. wide, ± obtuse, broadly cuneate, subcoriaceous, glabrous and shiny on upper surface; primary lateral nerves ±15 each side, finely raised on both surfaces.. Flowers clustered in axils of current leaves, pendulous.. Sepals narrowly lanceolate, acuminate, up to 10 mm. long and 4 mm. wide.. Corolla-segments linear-lanceolate, up to 7 mm. long.. Filaments up to 2.5 mm. long; anthers up to 4 mm. long; staminodes narrowly lanceolate and ± equal to length of stamens, externally pilose.. Ovary densely pilose, tapering into a slender style up to 1 cm. long.
