Leaf blades 0.8–3.2 x 0.1–1.1 cm., acute or subacute but mucronulate at the apex, cuneate at the base, margin often narrowly revolute, glabrescent to scabridulous above, glabrous beneath or the midvein and margins ciliate; petiole obsolete or very short; stipular fimbriae up to 1.5–2 mm. long from a base 0.2–1.5 mm. long, hairy.
Corolla white, pink or pale mauve, tube 0.6–1 mm. long, widest at the base; lobes 0.4–0.7 x 0.4 mm., ovate, papillate inside.
Calyx puberulous to densely scabrid pubescent; tube shallow, 0.5 mm. long or less, 1–1.1 mm. wide; lobes 0.5–0.8 x 0.3 mm.
Capsule 2 mm. wide, beak 1 mm. long and wide, puberulous to densely scabrid pubescent.
Herb 8–40 cm. tall, with glabrous to sparsely hairy square stems.
Pedicels obsolete or up to 3 mm. long in the fruiting stage.
Style 0.3–0.6 mm. long; stigmas linear, 0.2–0.3 mm. long.
Seeds brown c. 20 per capsule, c. 0.3 mm. long.
