Fruticose annuals or possibly short-lived herbaceous perennials to 60 cm high, with few to many stems arising from base. Stems up to 4 mm across; young branchlets smooth. Leaves narrowly elliptic to elliptic, narrowly ovate or narrowly obovate, 15–50 mm long, 3–14 mm wide, flat, with margins entire or coarsely toothed distally with obtuse-tipped teeth, apex obtuse, smooth adaxially; stipules 1.5–2.5 mm long. Inflorescences sessile or pedunculate; peduncles 0.7–0.9 mm across. Male flowers: calyx lobes narrowly ovate or ovate-elliptic, 1.9–2.4 mm long; petals reniform, 0.8–1.3 mm long, apex rounded and notched; staminal filaments 1.9–2.5 mm long; connective tissue 0.1–0.2 mm long; rudimentary ovary absent. Female flowers: calyx lobes broadly ovate or suborbicular, 1.2–1.8 mm long; petals absent or rarely present as rudimentary lobes; styles 2-lobed; lobes c. half the length of style. Fruit subglobose, 2.7–3 mm diam., smooth. Seeds ellipsoid.
