Characteristics

Plant small, usually solitary, 20-40 mm high. Corm 5-8 mm diam.; tunics pale, composed of pith-like, soft layers with conspicuous vertical wings. Stem underground at flowering. Leaves spreading to ± prostrate, channelled near base, terete in upper half, 15-30(-60) mm long, channelled part with ciliate margins. Rhipidial spathes hardly distinct from leaves, with 1 to 3 flowers per plant. Flowers fugaceous, yellow or white, salver-shaped with tepals cupped below; perianth tube cylindric, 5-20 mm long; tepals subequal, obovate, 13-19 x 6.5-8.0 mm. Filaments united in a cylindric column 4-5 mm long; anthers sessile, 2.0-2.5 mm long, slightly diverging, yellow or white. Ovary globose, ± 2 mm diam.; style slender, dividing ± 4 mm above anther tips, branches short, deeply fringed. Capsules and seeds unknown.
