Plants slender, rarely exceeding 300 mm high. Corm ± 10 mm diam.; tunics of brown, coarse fibres. Stem usually simple or 1-branched, 3 internodes long, sheathing leaves 25-40 mm long, attenuate. Foliage leaf solitary, linear, channelled, usually exceeding stem or trailing distally, ± 1.5 mm wide. Rhipidial spathes attenuate, dry and brown in upper half, inner ± 45 mm long, outer up to 25 mm long. Flowers long-lived, white, outer tepal limbs with dark blue nectar guides at bases edged with radiating blue lines, spreading to weakly reflexed; outer tepals ± 20 mm long, limbs 12-13 mm long and ± as wide, margins undulate; inner tepals lacking. Filaments 8-9 mm long, united in lower 1/3, free and diverging above; anthers oblong, 3-4 mm long, dark blue; pollen orange-red. Ovary narrowly elliptic, 7-9 mm long, red, exserted; style branches ± 6 mm long, crests 6-7 mm long. Capsules club-shaped, usually flushed red, ± 10 mm long. Seeds angular, prismatic.
