Plants 100-300 mm high. Corm 10-15 mm diam.; tunics of stiff, dark, coarse fibres covered by mealy substance. Stem with one main axis and few to several ± sessile, lateral branches; sheathing leaves 40-55 mm long. Foliage leaves 2, linear, channelled, ± erect or trailing, longer than stem. Rhipidial spathes membranous with prominent veins, ± dry at flowering, attenuate, inner 40-60 mm long, outer slightly shorter. Flowers fugaceous, white, outer tepal limbs with small, yellow nectar guides at bases, ultimately ± half reflexed; outer tepals lanceolate, 24-27 x 10-12 mm, claws suberect, 10-12 mm long, inner tepals 20-25 x 3-5 mm, erect. Filaments 5-6 mm long, united in lower 1/3-1/2; anthers 5-6 mm. Ovary ± cylindric, included, ± 50 mm long, fertile in lower 10 mm; style branches 7-11 mm long, ascending, crests erect, 11-13 mm long. Capsules and seeds not known.
