Plants 150-250 mm high. Corm ± obconic to subglobose, 5-8 mm diam.; tunics of fine to medium textured, dark brown to blackish fibres. Stem usually 3 or 4 internodes long, simple or 1-or 2-branched, branches erect, held close to main axis with rhipidia diverging; sheathing leaves 25-30 mm long, attenuate. Foliage leaf solitary, ± basal, slightly longer than stem, narrowly channelled, leaf halves folded together when dry, then seeming terete, ± 2-3 mm wide alive opened flat. Rhipidial spathes attenuate with dry brown apices, inner 22-32 mm long, outer ± 1/2 as long. Flowers fugaceous, pale blue-grey, blue or white, outer tepals with yellow nectar guides at bases; tepals unequal, broadly oblanceolate, subobtuse, claws ascending, limbs spreading to reflexed up to 30º below horizontal, outer 14-17 x 4.5-6.0 mm, claws 5-7 mm long, < 1/2 as long as limbs, inner 12-14 x ± 2 mm. Filaments ± 4.5 mm long, united in lower 2/3; anthers 3.0-3.5 mm long, pale blue-mauve to white; pollen white. Ovary narrowly ovoid, 3-5 mm long, included or barely exserted; style branches ± 5 x 2 mm, crests narrowly wedge-shaped, ± 5 mm long. Capsules obovoid, 5-6 mm long. Seeds unknown.
