Characteristics

Plants up to 25 mm high. Corm ± ellipsoid, 6-8 mm diam.; tunics of light brown, netted fibres with prominent vertical ribs. Stem underground at flowering. Leaves in a basal tuft, 3 or 4, falcate, terete, 10-35 x 0.6-1.0 mm, with transparent adaxial band. Rhipidial spathes not distinct from leaves; with 1 to 3 flowers per plant. Flowers fugaceous, salver-shaped with tepals slightly cupped, pale pink to lilac or ± white with yellow at bases; perianth tube ± 8 mm long, cylindric; tepals ± 15 mm long, narrowed below into claws ± 6 mm long, inner tepals joined to filament column for ± 2 mm. Filaments ± 7 mm long, united below in a cylindric column, free and diverging in upper ± 1 mm; anthers ± 2 mm long, erect, yellow; pollen yellow. Ovary ± ovoid, ± 4 mm long; style branches short, dividing into 3 broad, stigmatic lobes at midanther level, margins undulate, entire. Capsules ovoid-ellipsoid, ± 6 mm long. Seeds globose, 0.6 mm diam., dark brown.
