Plants 10-250 mm high. Corm 8-10 mm diam.; tunics of dark, wiry fibres. Stem erect below, flexed sharply above sheath of foliage leaf, 1-to several-branched, bearing attenuate sheathing leaves 20-30 mm long. Foliage leaf solitary, inserted well above ground, linear, channelled, erect below, trailing distally, 2-3 mm wide. Rhipidial spathes attenuate, inner initially 25-40 mm long, later elongating to enclose developing capsules, outer 14-25 mm long. Flowers long-lived, pale yellow, all tepal limbs with deep yellow nectar guides at bases edged or dotted with green, spreading, claws erect forming narrow cup enclosing lower 1/2 of filament column; outer tepals oblong, 20-22 x ± 8 mm, claws ± 3 mm long, inner tepals ± 20 x 7 mm, ± wedge-shaped, widest in upper 1/3. Filaments united in a cylindric column ± 6 mm long, velvety in lower 2/3, wider at base, tapering and smooth above; anthers initially ± 3 mm long, erect, contiguous, collapsing after anthesis, then < 2 mm. Ovary cylindric, 4-5 mm long, enclosed; style branches short, ± 1.5 mm long, flat, bilobed, apices emerging between anthers, stigmatic and ciliate at tips. Capsules ovoid, ± 8 mm long, included. Seeds unknown.
