Plants 150-450 mm high. Corm ovoid, 12-15 mm diam., asymmetric with a fibrous downward extension on one side; tunics brown, inner layers unbroken, outer fragmented into vertical sections held together by cross fibres, sometimes ± fibrous with age. Stem ± erect, firm, with long basal internode, branched, branches crowded above first aerial node 80-150 mm above ground, main stem sometimes also branched. Leaves 2 to 4, inserted above ground, clustered above first aerial node, linear, channelled, lowermost longest, arching to trailing, up to 400 mm long, upper leaves progressively smaller. Rhipidial spathes green, acute to ± truncate, turning brown with age, inner 38-45 mm long, outer ± 2/3 as long, sheathing entirely. Flowers fugaceous, pale dull yellow with darker veins, outer tepal limbs with bright yellow, green spotted nectar guides at bases edged brown distally; tepals with limbs spreading, undulate, and claws forming a narrow cup ± 4 mm deep clasping base of filament column, outer tepals 27-30 x 9-12 mm, claws narrow, ± 4 mm long, erect, inner tepals 23-26 x 8-9 mm. Filaments 8-10 mm long, united in smooth, cylindric column; anthers 6-8 mm long, overtopping stigma lobe, dark purple; pollen orange-red. Ovary ± 8 mm long, included or exserted; style branches ± 6 x 2 mm, narrowly diverging, with terminal, transverse, semi-circular stigma lobes ± 3 mm wide, crests erect, 10-12 mm long.
