Moraea kamiesensis Goldblatt

Plants up to 45 mm high, including flowers. Corm 6-8 mm diam.; tunics of brown, reticulate fibres. Stem underground at flowering. Foliage leaves few, not clearly distinguished from rhipidial spathes, inserted at ground level, lower spreading to ± prostrate, oblong, ± plane, obtuse, margins thickened, ± translucent, ciliate. Rhipidial spathes not distinct from leaves; with 2 to 5 flowers per plant. Flowers fugaceous, salver-shaped with tepals cupped below, yellow; perianth tube 15-25 mm long, cylindric; tepals obovate, 22-30 x 11-15 mm, obtuse, usually apiculate. Filaments ± 6 mm long, united in a cylindric column; anthers 4-5 mm long, erect, yellow; pollen yellow. Ovary ovoid, ± 5 mm long; style ± 8 mm long, dividing into short, horizontal, deeply fringed stigmatic lobes. Capsules and seeds unknown.
