Characteristics

Plants 200-350 mm high. Corm ± globose, 12-16 mm diam.; tunics of light brown, netted fibres. Stem usually unbranched, with 3 aerial internodes, sheathing leaves 40-45 mm long, with dry, attenuate apices. Foliage leaf solitary, ± basal, linear, narrowly channelled, ± 1.5 mm wide, trailing and often dry distally. Rhipidial spathes with dry, attenuate apices, inner 40-45 mm long, outer ± 2/3 as long. Flowers long-lived, pale pink, fading darker pink, outer tepal limbs with bright yellow nectar guides at bases, flushed lilac-pink on reverse, reflexed at ± 45°; outer tepals 27-30 mm long, claws ± 10 mm long, yellow, densely hairy; inner tepals 16-18 mm long, 3-lobed with linear, suberect central lobe ± 9 mm long, lateral lobes short, obtuse. Filaments 7-8 mm long, united in lower 2/3 in a cylindric column, smooth or papillate, free and diverging above; anthers ± 3.5 mm long, pink. Ovary oblong, 7-8 mm long, exserted; style branches diverging, ± 5 x 2 mm, crests slender, erect, 5-8 mm long. Capsules and seeds unknown.
