Plants 150-300 mm high. Corm 8-14 mm diam.; tunics of wiry, black fibres. Stem flexed above leaf insertion, usually with several branches, or simple, with entirely sheathing leaves 30-50 mm long. Foliage leaf solitary, inserted shortly above ground, linear, channelled, longer than stem. Rhipidial spathes attenuate, inner 35-60 mm long, outer ± half as long. Flowers deep to pale orange-pink or pale yellow, with dark yellow nectar guides at bases of tepal limbs, tepal claws forming a cup 8-9 mm wide, including the filaments and anthers, limbs spreading, flaccid; outer tepals 25-35 x 10-14 mm, claws 11-15 mm long, limbs ± oblong, obtuse; inner tepals slightly smaller. Filaments united in a slender, cylindric column 7-9 mm long, minutely papillate-pubescent, smooth near apex; anthers erect, 4-7 mm long, contiguous or slightly diverging in upper 1/3. Ovary 8-12(-15) mm long; style dividing opposite or beyond anther tips; branches short, 1-2 mm long or barely developed, stigma bilobed, crests minute, obscure or lacking. Capsules 15-20 mm long, cylindric, with short, acute beak ± 1 mm long. Seeds angular.
