Plants 120-250 mm high. Corm ± 20 mm diam.; tunics of light brown, finely netted fibres extending upward in a collar around base. Stem flexuose, with several short branches, sheathing leaves attenuate, ± 20 mm long. Foliage leaf solitary, much exceeding stem, trailing distally, 3-4 mm wide, channelled, margins thickened. Rhipidial spathes dry distally at anthesis, apices sometimes lacerated; inner spathe 30-35 mm long, outer slightly shorter. Flowers fugaceous, pale blue-lilac, outer tepal limbs with prominent orange nectar guides in proximal half, reflexed to ± 40º; outer tepals ± 30 mm long, claws ± 15 mm long, linear, channelled below; inner tepals narrowly lanceolate, ± 25 mm long, claws ± linear, channelled, limbs similarly reflexed. Filaments 15 mm long, united in lower half; anthers 3-4 mm long, mauve; pollen ± white. Ovary ellipsoid, 7-8 mm long, included, style branches ± 12 mm long, crests narrow, up to 10 mm long. Capsules ± 15 mm long, ± obovoid, shortly beaked for ± 15 mm long, partly to fully included in spathes. Seeds small, angled.

Cormous geophyte, up to 250 mm tall, stem few-branched. Leaf solitary, linear, channelled, inserted shortly above ground. Flowers pale blue-lilac, outer tepals with bright orange marks near limb bases, tepals unequal, with long, narrow ascending claws, inner much smaller, limbs slightly reflexed, filaments in a long, slender column, style crests well developed, opening late afternoon, lasting until late evening.
