Flowers blue to violet with white to pale-yellow nectar guides on the outer tepals; outer tepals (57)65–80 mm long, lanceolate, the limb 30–45 mm long, equal to or longer than the claw; inner tepals 55–75 mm long, lanceolate, erect.
Rhipidium single, terminal; spathes green with a dry brown apex, the inner 9–13 cm long, the outer ± two-thirds as long as the inner.
Foliage leaf much exceeding the stem, 5–7 mm wide, linear, channelled; sheathing leaves 4–5 imbricate, 6–10 cm long, green.
Ovary c. 20 mm long, often included in the spathes; style branches c. 25 mm long, crests c. 20 mm long.
Filaments 13–17 mm long, free in the upper half to one third, anthers 12–15 mm long.
Corms c. 15 mm in diameter; tunics of pale fine to medium-textured fibres.
Cataphylls brown, irregularly broken to more or less fibrous.
Capsules c. 3 cm long, narrowly ovoid.
