Plants small, mostly 200-300 mm high, often with a collar of fibres around base. Corm ± 10 mm diam.; tunic of pale straw-coloured fibres. Stem slender, simple, 2 internodes long, sheathing leaves green with dry, brown, attenuate apices, 24-45 mm long. Foliage leaf lacking or emergent at flowering, solitary, ultimately exceeding stem, terete. Rhipidial spathes with attenuate, brown apices, inner 33-50 mm long, outer ± 2/3 as long. Flowers long-lived, white to pale blue, marked with lilac veins, outer tepal limbs with deep yellow nectar guides at bases, reflexed to 30-50º, claws speckled with purple spots on a broad median yellow band; outer tepals 10-20 x 6.5-7.5 mm, lanceolate, claws ascending, slightly shorter than limbs; inner tepals 7.5-12.0 mm long, erect, 3-lobed, lateral lobes short, ovoid, obtuse, inner cusp-like, linear, 3-4 mm long, curving inward, brown-dotted. Filaments 4-5 mm long, united or free in upper 0.5 mm; anthers 3-4 mm long, shortly exceeding style branches. Ovary club-shaped, ± 5 mm long; style branches diverging, ± 4 mm long, crests slender, 2-3 mm long. Capsules barrel-shaped, up to 10 mm long. Seeds unknown.
