Plants 100-150 mm high. Corm globose, 10-15 mm diam.; tunics of dark brown, coarse, wiry fibres. Stem ± flexuose, usually few-branched from upper nodes, sheathing leaves 25-35 mm long, dry, pale below with dark attenuate apices. Foliage leaf solitary, basal, terete, ± falcate to trailing distally, longer than stem, ± 1 mm diam. Rhipidial spathes initially green, drying and brown from apex, inner 20-25 mm long, outer ± 1/2 as long. Flowers fugaceous, blue or white, all tepal limbs spreading to slightly reflexed, with yellow nectar guides at bases; tepals subequal, outer ± 15 x 6 mm, inner 13-14 x ± 4, claws ± 1 mm long, suberect, enclosing bases of filaments. Stamens free, filaments ± 3.5 mm long, diverging; anthers ± 6 mm long, straight in bud, becoming incurved after anthesis, yellow. Ovary ovoid-elliptic, ± 3.5 mm long; style branches undivided, filiform, extending between bases of anthers, ± 3.5 mm long. Capsules ± broadly elliptic-ovoid, ± 9 mm long. Seeds angular.
