Characteristics

Plants 150-450(-700) mm, solitary. Corm ± 15 mm diam.; tunics brown, softly fibrous. Stem sheathed by irregularly broken, brown cataphylls, unbranched, enclosed by 2 or 3 ± overlapping sheathing leaves 80-120 mm long, green with dry, brown tips. Foliage leaf solitary, linear, channelled, mostly 5-6 mm wide, ultimately exceeding stem. Rhipidial spathes green with dry, brown tips, inner 70-120 mm long, outer ± 2/3 as long. Flowers long-lived, pale yellow, outer tepal limbs with deeper yellow nectar guides at bases, spreading to half reflexed; outer tepals 35-50 x 12-20 mm, claws 15-20 mm long; inner tepals lanceolate, erect, 35-40 x 5-7 mm. Filaments ± 10 mm long, united in lower 2/3; anthers ± 9 mm long, white; pollen white. Ovary ± cylindric, ± 15 mm long; style branches ± 13 mm long, crests erect, ± 10 mm long. Capsules ovoid-oblong, 18-22 mm long, on elongate pedicels up to 300 mm long. Seeds flattened, disc-shaped, with spongy testa, in a single row per locule.
