Characteristics

Plants 180-350 mm high. Corms globose, 12-14 mm diam.; tunics of medium to coarsely textured, light brown, netted fibres. Stem 3 internodes long, ± straight, usually unbranched, sheathing leaves green with dry, attenuate tips, 25-40 mm long. Cataphylls dry and brown. Foliage leaf solitary, basal, up to twice as long as stem, linear, channelled, ± 3 mm wide (when opened flat), erect below, trailing distally. Rhipidial spathes green with dry brown attenuate tips, inner 45-65 mm long, outer ± 1/2 as long. Flowers violet (? or pale blue), outer tepal limbs with small triangular, minutely pubescent, white nectar guides at bases outlined with dark purple, fully reflexed, claws densely dark violet pubescent, scentless; outer tepals (26-)30-40 mm long, claws ascending, ± 1/3 as long as limbs; inner tepals erect, ± 24 mm long, linear to wider just below the midline, then with 2 obscure rounded lateral lobes 1-2 mm long and central, linear cusp ± 10 mm long, 20-24 mm long. Filaments 12-15 mm long, united below in a cylindric column 9-10 mm long, diverging in upper 3-5 mm; anthers 6-9 mm long, sometimes exceeding stigma lobes; pollen orange. Ovary cylindric-3-lobed, 8-10 mm long, exserted; style branches 10-12 x 2 mm, diverging, crests narrowly lanceolate-linear, 5-8 mm long. Capsules ellipsoid-oblong, 12-16 mm long. Seeds angular, prismatic, ± 1.5 mm long.
