Plants 500-700 mm high. Corm globose, 8-15(-20) mm diam.; corms with tunics of fine, light brown fibres. Stem 3 or 4 internodes long, usually branched at 2 upper internodes, with up to 4 branches per node, sheathing leaves 42-50 mm long, green with dry, brown, attenuate apices. Foliage leaf solitary, ± basal, linear, channelled, erect, often ± as long as stem, often bent and trailing above, 3-4 mm wide. Rhipidial spathes with dry, brown, acute(-attenuate) apices, inner 50-55 mm long, outer ± 2/3 as long. Flowers long-lived, white, often faintly tinged with mauve especially reverse of tepals, outer tepal limbs with bluish bands or spots toward bases, speckled with mauve over lower 1/3-2/3, rarely over entire surface, claws banded with mauve lines, inner tepals brown with ± white dots, sweetly scented; outer tepals 24-28 x 14-17 mm, claws ascending, 7-9 mm long, limb ± broadly ovate, spreading; inner tepals erect, 8.5-10.0 mm long, 3-lobed, lateral lobes spathulate, 5-6 mm long, inner lobe filiform, arching outward, 4-6 mm long. Filaments 4.0-4.5 mm long, united in a column ± 3 mm long, diverging in upper 1.0-1.5 mm; anthers ± 4 mm long, bluish, apiculate; pollen yellow. Ovary oblong-cylindric, 5-6 mm long; style branches 4-5 mm long, crests narrowly triangular 3-4 mm long, brown. Capsules oblong, 12-15 x ± 5 mm. Seeds angular-prismatic, ± 1.2 mm long.
